Living with ceramic art

Care for the pieces you love.

Simple handling and display guidance for decorative ceramic artworks.

Handle with care.

Lift a ceramic sculpture from its stable base. Avoid lifting by thin details such as ears, tails, arms or decorative edges. Support the piece with both hands when moving it.

Choose a steady place.

Display on a stable, level surface away from busy edges. Keep fragile pieces out of reach of young children and pets. Check that shelves and fixings are appropriate for the artwork.

Clean gently.

Use a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush to remove dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners and sudden temperature changes. If a piece has metallic accents, a textured finish or attached decorative details, ask the studio about suitable cleaning before using water.

Ask before using.

These works are presented as decorative art. Unless the studio confirms otherwise for a specific piece, do not use them with food, liquids, heat or outdoors.
